Milliyet claim the only official offer that arrived at Besiktas for Domagoj Vida came from Birmingham City.

The Turkish newspaper report Birmingham City made a late €12m bid to sign World Cup star but this offer was turned down by Besiktas.

According to Milliyet, Vida had no intention to leave the Istanbul club and the Turkish newspaper also reports no Premier League clubs followed up their interest with an official bid to sign the player.

Vida has been linked with moves to English clubs throughout the transfer window with Wolves, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and West Ham United all reportedly interested in the Croatian international after his displays in the World Cup.

Vida now looks certain to stay at Besiktas unless an offer comes in from other clubs across Europe. Lyon and Sevilla have also been linked with a move for the player.

Despite these claims it’s seems unlikely Birmingham City would offer €12m due to their issues with FFP, and a loan deal would be their only possibility of landing Vida.
