Chelsea and Manchester United are both said to be monitoring Claudio Marchisio’s situation at Juventus.
The 31-year-old isn’t getting as many starts as before, something that is attracting the interest from Antonio Conte and José Mourinho, according to today’s edition of Tuttosport.
Conte remains a friend of Marchisio due to the years they’ve worked together at Juventus, and they keep in touch with each other to talk about several subjects.
Tuttosport doesn’t really mention how strong the interest from the Premier League clubs is, despite making clear that they are an option for the player in case he decides to leave Juve.
After recovering from a severe knee injury, Marchisio slowly went back to Juve’s team at the start of the season. But he still wasn’t able to be quite as important as before.
The newspaper claims the arrival of Corentin Tolisso from Lyon could make Marchisio’s situation worse, as he would likely go to the bench. The midfielder has a contract with Juventus until 2020, and it’s not said how much the Old Lady would ask for the transfer.
Chelsea would look to have the advantage over Manchester United, given Conte’s relationship with the player.
