Over the past few days, there have been a few articles suggesting that Mario Lemina was on his way to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Julen Lopetegui, who was appointed prior to the January transfer window, has made it clear he wants new players to improve his squad in the current transfer window, with the Gabon international one of them.
Currently at OGC Nice, the former Southampton player has been the subject of talks between the Ligue 1 side and Wolves, with them being advanced on Wednesday evening.
Well, it appears the transfer is now done, as reported by Mohamed Toubache-Ter, who took to Twitter to provide an update on the situation in a reply to another journalist’s claims.
He said the transfer is now ‘done’, and the player ‘said goodbye to his teammates this morning’, suggesting his move to Wolves is imminent.
The 29-year-old joined Nice from Southampton back in 2021, and has been a regular for the side this season, with 22 appearances in all competitions.
We’ll probably hear a bit more about this soon, but this was the latest update in a saga that will be remembered for being short and sweet.
C’est fait.
