Earlier on Tuesday, it was revealed that Leicester City had ‘already made a bid’ for Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne, and the Premier League side could ‘finalise the transfer quickly’.
That came from the Belgian side of things, with Het Belang Van Limburg spreading the information.
In Italy, that has now gone a step further, with TuttoMercatoWeb claiming there is ‘white smoke’ for the transfer, meaning it’s basically done.
The website claim the two sides have reached an agreement for the Belgian defender’s transfer from Atalanta to Leicester.
The fee has been found at £22m, with the player signing a five-year contract with a wage of around €2.5m/year.
The 24-year-old became an integral part of Gianpiero Gasperini’s plans at Atalanta following his £5.9m transfer from KRC Genk back in 2017.
This allows the Serie A side to make a healthy profit on the Belgium international who made 96 appearances for the club over the past three years, scoring eight goals and picking up 10 assists along the way.
