Yesterday we brought you claims from Turkey that Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny will arrive in Istanbul on Friday to complete his move to Besiktas on a season-long loan deal.
Today Sabah claim the deal is completed and they’ve given further details about the loan agreement.
According to their information, Arsenal will loan the Egyptian midfielder to Besiktas for free but the Istanbul club will cover all of his wages.
Sabah also report that there will be no redemption clause for the 27 year old.
It’s claimed Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci’s first choice was Lille’s Thiago Maia but after his agent demanded extra money, Besiktas switched their attention to Elneny and they’ve managed to seal a deal with Arsenal.
The former Basel player has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal under Unai Emery, but he could kickstart his career in the Super Lig.
Elneny’s contract lasts until June 2022, so there’s still a good amount of time to get a reasonable transfer fee, depending on how he does in Turkey.
