Mohamed Camara’s proposed move to Leeds United ‘has fallen through’, with the player now ordered back to training with Salzburg.
That’s according to Salzburg 24, who say a proposed move to the Premier League has been ‘put on hold’ for the time being.
The outlet reports that Camara has been dreaming of a move to England’s top flight for some time, and it is his ‘eagerly awaited dream destination’.
He almost fulfilled this dream as Leeds and Brighton both ‘put out feelers’ for the 22-year-old, but any move has ‘fallen through’ for the time being.
That’s because Leeds have signed Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig, filling the hole left by Kalvin Phillips’ departure to Manchester City, while Brighton have not taken their interest any further.
Salzburg have now confirmed that the Malian midfielder has been ordered to return to training with his club on Friday.
Camara had been released from his duties for nine days to discuss a move away, with reports about a ‘rumoured €30m’ bid from Leeds.
That, though, has ‘fallen through for the time being’, and Salzburg chief Christoph Freund has now put his foot down and ‘ordered’ the player to return.
That does not mean he won’t be leaving this summer, with a departure ‘paused’ rather than completely abandoned.
Camara still wants to take the next step in his career and move to a bigger league, but neither Leeds nor indeed Brighton are offering it anymore.
