Brentford’s Mads Bidstrup initially joined FC Nordsjælland on a loan deal in January 2022. Last summer, his temporary stay there was further extended until the end of this season.
The midfielder has made 25 appearances and it’s still not clear where he will play next season.
Tipsbladet editor-in-chief Troels Bager Thøgersen takes a look at Superliga players who ‘face an uncertain future’ and the Brentford man’s name is included in the list.
According to the journalist, the 22-year-old is among those who will play for his future in the remaining fixtures of this season.
Nordsjælland don’t have an option or obligation to buy the Denmark U21 international in the summer, meaning he will have to return to Brentford after this season.
There could be a possibility for Nordsjælland to take the Bees owned player on loan for the third time, but that option, as per the report, is ‘far from certain’.
According to Troels Bager Thøgersen, Thomas Frank may include Bidstrup in his plans at Brentford next season.
“Brentford are one of those clubs where renting doesn’t mean that his career at the club is over, so we shouldn’t rule out Brentford bringing him home and giving him the chance next season,” he said.
