Chelsea loanee Robert Kenedy is on his way back to the Stamford Bridge, according to reports from South America.
It had first been outlet Coluna do Fla who reported the Blues’ intentions. It was claimed that following Ben Chilwell’s injury, Thomas Tuchel requested the ‘immediate return’ of the Brazilian, who’s having a spell at Flamengo.
That story claimed that the Rio de Janeiro side were working to keep the player and make him stay until the end of the contract, which runs until the summer.
However, in an update now brought by journalist Venê Casagrande, it’s said Kenedy is indeed going to London, and he’ll soon fly to join Chelsea’s squad.
Even though Flamengo tried to keep the winger, it’s fair to say their fans aren’t really worried with his departure, as the response to the report is that Kenedy shouldn’t be missed at the club.
The winger had only one goal and one assist in 18 appearances for them, and wasn’t able to impress in his first months of the spell.
It was recently reported that Shakhtar Donetsk were trying to sign him.
