Nicolo Zaniolo will miss Roma’s clash with Napoli as he continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham this month.
That’s according to Leggo, relayed by Calcio Napoli 24, who say that after missing the clash with Spezia, Zaniolo will also be absent for the game against Napoli.
The Italian midfielder has been heavily linked with Tottenham over the last few weeks, with the latest report from Italy making it clear it was a two-horse race between Spurs and Milan for his signature.
Whether a deal can be done remains to be seen but it appears Roma, and likely Jose Mourinho, have decided Zaniolo will not be a part of their squad.
The midfielder missed the win over Spezia on Sunday and it’s reported that he will also be missing from the squad for Sunday’s clash with Napoli.
They explain that Roma are refusing to make discounts on the player and have made it clear that anyone who wants Zaniolo will have to pay the right amount.
There will be no loans with redemptions linked to appearances or league finishes nor an exchange.
Instead, any suitors, including Tottenham, must make an offer of €30m, or a loan with a mandatory option to buy, and nothing more.
Whether Spurs are willing to do so remains to be seen, but, so far, Fabio Paratici has been reluctant.
