Midfielder Denis Zakaria is a ‘negative circle’ at Chelsea but has the ability to break through and change things around if given the chance.
That’s according to chief sports officer at BSC Young Boys Christophe Spycher, who has backed the Switzerland star to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.
Zakaria joined the Blues on a loan deal from Juventus at the end of the summer transfer window, with the Blues signing a midfielder to bolster something of a problem position.
The move came just seven months after a move to Juventus, where he had struggled to make a positive impression or get much game time.
It’s been a similar story at Chelsea, where he is yet to make a single appearance for the club, spending most of his time sat on the bench.
His decision to join Chelsea has since been criticised, with it claimed the midfielder did not take the transfer or his career seriously.
Spycher has no such beliefs and instead has backed Zakaria to turn things around if given a chance by Graham Potter.
“Denis is certainly unlucky,” 4-4-2 report him saying.
“He had a fantastic development in Gladbach, was one of the most dominant midfielders until his injury. This came at the worst possible time for him,” 4-4-2 report him saying.
“Denis can push through, but he needs confidence and top form. He’s in a negative circle at the moment because he’s not getting any game time.
“He needs two or three games in which he can show himself. And then, of course, he has to perform.”
