We carried a report from Spanish newspaper AS on Friday, who claimed that Gareth Bale would prefer to join Manchester United over Bayern Munich if he’s to leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
AS also mentioned the Red Devils are willing to make the Wales international the highest paid player in the Premier League.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star helped his side win the Champions League in May. After the match, the forward admitted that he is unhappy with limited playing time at Real Madrid.
Today’s edition of AS reports Bale has returned from his holiday in Europe and the United States.
He is currently in Cardiff and will soon hold talks with Real Madrid’s new manager Julen Lopetegui. The 28-year-old “wants to know his future” is at the club or not.
Lopetegui was appointed as Zinedine Zidane’s successor and the former Spain coach also wants to have a discussion with Bale. Real Madrid’s new manager wants to know from the player if he can count on him, and if he cannot then the 13-time European champions will have to look for a replacement in this transfer window.
Interestingly, El Confidencial report Lopetegui and Real Madrid are becoming irritated with Bale and his agent for putting public pressure on to be picked.
Jonathan Barnett this week spoke to Sky explaining Bale needs to play more, and El Confidencial don’t like the open approach.
It’s once again stated that the reported Manchester United has gone against advice and continued to play golf. In Spain, rightly or wrongly, it’s repeatedly claimed Bale’s injury issues are partly due to his love of golf.
Bale and Lopetegui will have to meet soon, and this situation be sorted out one way or another.
