As you know, there has been a lot of talk of late that Chelsea could make another move for Jules Koundé.
The Frenchman has long been a target for the Blues, but the recent signing of Kalidou Koulibaly put a few matters on hold.
Then came talk that Chelsea were trying to sign Presnel Kimpembe from Paris Saint-Germain, but that seemed quite a tough task to pull off.
That’s why they returned for Koundé, and a first offer of €55m was made.
It was refused by Sevilla, who want a bit more for their star defender, and Radio Sevilla, relayed by Sport, now claim that a new offer has been made.
The article has a headline claiming the player is ‘one step away’ from Chelsea after putting forward ‘a proposal of more than €60m, which would be the one accepted by the Seville club’.
While Koundé is said to prefer the move to Barcelona, ‘the economic offers between the offers is very large’, as the La Liga giants can only pay ‘a maximum of €45m’.
What’s somewhat amusing is that Chelsea ‘would pay precisely €45m at once, while the rest would be in different terms and goals’.
Furthermore, what the Blues have put in front of the player ‘is also very high and difficult to refuse’, regardless of his desire to play for Barcelona.
