Turkish newspaper Star report Besiktas manager Senol Gunes is considering a reunion with his former player Onur Kivrak as he’s not been impressed with Loris Karius since his loan move from Liverpool.
Star say Gunes wants to work with Kivrak again following their time together at Trabzonspor, which could result in Karius returning to Anfield.
Kivrak is expected to terminate his contract with Trabzonspor and the Turkish media widely report he’s set for a move to Besiktas.
According to Star, this could mean the end of Karius’ Besiktas career after recent reports the Turkish club are considering sending him back to Liverpool.
However, there have been other claims in Turkey the Istanbul club could look to keep Karius after he showed some good form in recent games.
The German goalkeeper joined Besiktas on a two year loan deal in the summer and they also have a right of redemption on the Liverpool player. With Alisson cementing his place as Jurgen Klopp’s No.1 it seems Karius doesn’t have a future on Merseyside.
Despite all the claims of a return, there’s not been any angle on what Liverpool may make of it, or even if Besiktas can send the player back.
