Sadio Mane ‘doesn’t look happy’ at Bayern Munich and hasn’t ‘integrated’ himself since his move from Liverpool.
That’s according to Didi Hamann, who believes the German giants have a problem that they need to fix with the forward.
Mane swapped Liverpool for Bayern in a £28.8m deal this summer, bringing an end to superb six-year spell at Anfield that had seen him score 120 goals and register 49 assists in 269 games.
He started life at Bayern in good form, scoring three goals in his first three games in the Bundesliga and bagging in both the DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup.
He’s struggled this month, though, failing to score in his last three appearances in the Bundesliga or Bayern’s Champions League wins over Inter and Barcelona.
That’s led to questions about his suitability as the main striker and, more importantly, Robert Lewandowski’s replacement.
Hamann certainly believes there is work to be done, saying the forward doesn’t look happy at the Allianz Arena.
“He is not integrated,” he told GMX.
“I saw him at Liverpool FC, where he played through the middle. That is not his position. Now he’s taking that position at FC Bayern as well.
“He is at his best when he comes from the outside. He doesn’t look happy to me.
“Other players like Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala or, in defence, Lucas Hernandez, who is injured at the moment, are putting in outstanding performances.
“Nobody is talking about Mane at the moment. He seems isolated and hardly takes part in the game. FC Bayern has to get a grip on that.”
