Linked with a move away from Marseille pretty much every summer, Morgan Sanson has yet to leave the Ligue 1 club.

However, with the French side desperate for funds to sort out their own transfer window, this year could be the one, especially with Tottenham reportedly circling.

According to Le Phocéen, Sanson’s exit from the south of France towards the Premier League is ‘well underway’, and they hint Spurs will likely be candidates for his signature.

The reason for this is Spurs ‘absolutely want to recruit’ a midfielder during the next few months, which makes sense considering the situation surrounding Tanguy Ndombélé.

Marseille’s stance hasn’t changed in that they want €35m for the former Montpellier star, but they know they will have to wait a while before getting that kind of money.

The reason for that is the delay in the opening of the Premier League’s transfer window, which is now scheduled for July 27th and set to continue until the beginning of October.

Until Sanson, or another big name, leaves, Marseille are a bit stuck, so the sooner it all happens for them, the better.

As for Tottenham in all this, they will likely have the €35m required at their disposal, but it remains to be seen whether it’s Sanson they go for.
