Following the many reports regarding Manchester United’s pursuit for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, it seems the Red Devils already made a move to sign the 27-year-old.
Newspaper La Reppublica (via LazioNews24) today claims that the Old Trafford side placed a €55m bid to sign him this summer.
It’s said the offer from Manchester United was delivered at the weekend, when collaborators of his agent Mateja Kezman went to Lazio’s match.
The bid, however, isn’t enough to convince the Italian side, with the website saying the amount is still ‘far from the request’ from club president Claudio Lotito.
It’s said the Serie A club set the price for Milinkovic-Savic at €80m, and while Manchester United continue to be in touch for the transfer, his agent believes a deal could be found for between €65m and €70m.
La Repubblica also claims there should be more meetings for this transfer ‘in the next few days’, so in case the Red Devils are focusing on raising their offer, perhaps we could have interesting developments soon.
