Mexican outlet Milenio features today a piece on Alex Alcalá, a 15-year-old midfielder who’s just signed for Los Angeles Galaxy’s youth ranks.
As previously reported by other outlets, the teenager is said to be a target for Manchester City, who’ll follow his development in the United States and then think of bringing him to the United Kingdom.
What Milenio now claims is that the Premier League side actually have a buying option to get Alcalá, and that can be triggered when he turns 18. The amount, however, wasn’t revealed.
They say this is a similar situation to Ariel Antuna. Difference is that Manchester City really signed the winger and only then loaned him out to LA Galaxy. Following his return to the English club, he ended up being sold to Chivas this year on a €10m deal.
Now Alcalá, who seems excited with the chance of playing either for the MLS or the Premier League side, spoke to Milenio about everything that has been going on at the start of his career, and points out some of his big dreams.
“Without a doubt there are many emotions that I am experiencing”, he said. “I consider myself a player who has a lot of passion for soccer, who plays as a team, I like to score.”
“I seek to work hard. I’d like to compete for the Ballon d’Or. I want to get to play for the Mexican national team, win the Gold Cup and be champion with Manchester City.”
