Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence for Manchester United’s Monday training session, explained by the club as due to family issues, many rumours surrounded the 37-year-old.

One of them came from Portugal, which said the player was still in his home country. That’s because journalist Pedro Sepulveda had a video of the player’s car at the national team’s training facilities.

It turns out, however, that another local outlet now comes up to dismiss that claim. That’s newspaper Record, who feature a story about Ronaldo’s situation today.

Firstly, they confirm the forward’s explanation for missing training revolved around family reasons, just as communicated by Manchester United.

Then Record claims that Ronaldo wasn’t at the national team’s facilities. Regarding the video of a white Rolls-Royce, they confirm it’s his car, but claim it was one of his employees driving it. The newspaper say the player only trained there on Friday and Saturday, and hasn’t showed up since then.

The report also points out the forward’s wish to leave Old Trafford, but doesn’t really seem to have any relevant updates on that front.
