Last night Turkish TV channel NTV reported Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has terminated his contract with Besiktas and that he won’t return to the club when the Turkish Super Lig restarts.
Earlier this week we covered reports from Turkey that Karius had contacted FIFA over unpaid wages and was looking to get out of the club.
Today, Fanatik have given the details of Karius’ expected departure. It’s claimed the Liverpool owned player held talks with Besiktas yesterday and both sides have reached an agreement which will allow the German goalkeeper to leave.
Fanatik also say Besiktas will pay Karius €470K and the 26 year old has reportedly agreed on the terms and signed the contract.
Besiktas have now turned to their young goalkeepers Ersin Destanoglu and Utku Yuvakuran for the remaining eight games, and they will sign a new goalkeeper in the summer.
Karius’ contract with Liverpool will expire at the end of June 2021.
