Sabah report Galatasaray’s new signing Kostas Mitroglou rejected offers from three Premier League teams including Cardiff City, before joining Cim Bom on a temporary basis.
On deadline day the Turkish giants confirmed the arrival of the 30 year old from Marseille on an 18-month loan deal, and Sabah say the Greek striker turned down the chance to return to the Premier League with Cardiff City after his spell with Fulham.
The Turkish newspaper claim Mitroglou decided to play in Turkey because of his close ties with the country.
It’s reported some of Mitroglu’s close relatives are living in Istanbul so that’s why the former Olympiacos man rejected a chance to head to Cardiff City.
Mitroglou was a part of the last Fulham squad to be relegated from the Premier League but he only managed to make three appearances for the West London club during the second half of 2013/14 season.
Cardiff City were linked several forwards in the final days of the window.
