On Monday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported Hellas Verona have rejected Everton’s offer of €8m plus €2m bonuses for Jackson Tchatchoua.

It was also said the Toffees could possibly return with an improved bid to meet the Serie A side’s asking price of €10m plus bonuses.

Alfredo Pedullà says no official offer has arrived from Everton yet, which is no surprise.

They have already expressed interest in the 22-year-old via an intermediary, and there’s point in making the offer official until they hear back that it will be successful.

As well as the Merseyside club, the journalist says there’s been claims of Stade Rennais wanting to sign the Cameroon international in the last few hours. His profile is liked by the Ligue 1 side’s sporting director, Frederic Massara, who was previously at AC Milan.

Last month, Hellas Verona made the right-back’s transfer permanent, after initially signing him on loan from Belgian side Charleroi in August 2023.

The Italian club are ready to sell the player for €10m plus bonuses this summer. Pedullà adds they are now waiting for an official offer, likely from Everton and Tchatchoua’s other interested parties.

The fullback made 27 appearances for Hellas Verona last season.
