SporunDibi claim Everton forward Cenk Tosun is set for a January return to his former club Besiktas, just 12 months after arriving at Goodsion Park.

The Turkish website say Besiktas are in talks with Everton with regards to loaning Tosun and it’s claimed the Premier League side will allow the Turkey international to head back to Istanbul.

Tosun has struggled so far this season under Marco Silva and last night against Newcastle United he was subbed off after 70 minutes without making any real contribution in the game.

Despite Tosun previously stating he’s ready to stay and fight for his place in the Everton starting eleven, SporunDibi report Besiktas are close to getting an agreement with the Toffees.

Besiktas have made it their priority to bring in a No.9 in the new year and have also been linked with West Ham United’s Javier Hernandez and Watford’s Stefano Okaka.

Tosun has made 14 appearances for Everton this season in all competition, scoring two goals.

This sounds too good to be true for Besiktas, and unless the English club have their eye on a replacement, perhaps it’s wishful thinking from the Turkish media.
