Andre Gomes has finalised his move from Everton to Lille, joining the French side on loan until the end of the season.
That’s according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who says the deal is now ‘done’ after Lille boss Paulo Fonseca specifically asked for his signing.
Gomes had been told he was not a part of Everton’s plans this season, with Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell making that clear to the player.
A lack of interest had made it appear that he would be staying at Goodison Park despite that before Lille emerged as suitors on deadline day.
They’ve since pushed ahead in negotiations over a loan deal with Everton, and reports in France have even stated that Gomes has undergone a medical ahead of the move.
Andrade now takes things one step further and claims that the deal is ‘done’, and he will be joining ‘on loan’ from Everton until the end of the season.
All that is remaining is official confirmation from both sides, and whether Everton are going to spend the money they’ll be saving on Gomes’ wages on any potential deadline day signings.
