It appears that Brighton & Hove Albion’s chances of keeping on to Roberto De Zerbi beyond the current season are dwindling a little bit.
That’s according to Inter Live, who report an exclusive story on Friday claiming that the Italian manager isn’t as keen to stay as he once was.
This comes amid a lot of interest in the Brighton boss, as clubs such as Tottenham and, of course, Inter Milan have been said to be eyeing him up for next season.
De Zerbi has himself made it clear he sees himself staying with the Seagulls, but the latest information reported suggests otherwise.
Inter Live state that a source ‘close to the events at Brighton’ claims that ‘there is already a crack’ between the manager and the English club.
This is due to the fact that De Zerbi is a ‘demanding and ambitious’ manager, and he ‘wants to essentially change the club’s philosophy a little’ to help it grow.
That means ‘reinforcements of greater stature and experience, as well as confirmation the best players’ will stay, compared to their current aim of finding young talent to nurture and then sell on.
However, this is ‘unlikely to change’, meaning there could be some conflict between De Zerbi and the Brighton hierarchy.
Something to keep an eye on then.
