After scoring two goals against Sivasspor at the weekend for Galatasaray, Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Florin Andone is dominating the headlines in Turkey.

The Romanian striker was impressive against Sivasspor and took his chance with Radamel Falcao currently sidelined due to injury.

Despite his transfer to Galatasaray, Turkish newspaper Sabah report he could have joined their local rivals Fenerbahce at the start of the year but the Yellow Canaries pulled out of the deal at the very last minute, making way for Gala to loan the 26 year old in the summer.

It’s reported Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal wanted someone to replace Islam Slimani and the Brighton player was an option for the Super Lig side.

However, Fenerbahce officials pulled out of a deal at the very last minute because they believed fans would criticise a move for Andone, due to his goalscoring record with the Seagulls.

After finishing last season with Brighton, the Romania international loaned was out to Galatasaray and now looks set to face Real Madrid this week.
