Star report Galatasaray are close to announing Henry Onyekuru’s stay at the club after agreeing personal terms with the Everton player.

It’s reported the Turkish club have offered a €1m loan fee to Everton and are currently waiting for the Premier League’s side answer.

Last week we covered other claims from Turkey that Gala have reached an agreement with Everton for Onyekuru, and whilst Star don’t say quite that, they do believe it’s close.

The Nigerian winger has reportedly told Everton he wants to stay at Galatasaray to improve his game and believes playing in the Champions League will also help him develop.

Everton were looking to sell him on a permanent deal after his impressive loan spell with Galatasaray last season, but Star say the Merseyside club couldn’t get the offers they wanted.

Onyekuru is under contract at Everton until June 2022 so the club are under no pressure to sell him this summer.

It’s curious that the Toffees would agree to a loan so soon if they really wanted a sale, because there’s plenty of time left to find a permanent option.
