Manchester United are in the picture to sign RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku in the summer.
The attacking midfielder, who can also operate anywhere in the front three, has been in fine form for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring 19 goals and registering 13 assists in all competitions, with seven of those goals coming in the Champions League.
This week’s edition of SportBild names the Red Devils as one of the 24-year-old’s suitors.
The Frenchman and Dani Olmo are the two players who could be in demand in the next window.
It’s claimed that Oliver Mintzlaff, the German club’s chief has ‘long known’ that Barcelona want Olmo and United are ‘keen on Nkunku’.
The former Paris Saint-Germian man’s contract with Leipzig is until 2024 and it doesn’t include a release clause. According to SportBild, the attacker’s value is set at €55m.
Earlier this month, Bild reported the Manchester club are ‘interested’ in Nkunku. Apart from United, his former club, PSG, are also looking at the player.
Mintzlaff, however, is keen on retaining the versatile attacker at the club beyond this season.
“Christopher Nkunku will continue to play with us next season. That’s our plan,” he told Bild earlier this week.
