Chelsea are ‘close to completing’ a deal for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana, with the two clubs discussing the final details of the move.

That’s according to Media Foot, who provide their own information on the defender’s potential move to Stamford Bridge today.

They say Chelsea are ‘close’ to finalising a deal for the Leicester City star, having been in ‘active’ negotiations with their counterparts at the King Power Stadium for the past two weeks.

Despite facing a brick wall, first proposing a deal exceeding €70m and then €85m, Chelsea were never put off, though, and they are now close to finalising a deal.

According to Media Foot’s information, only ‘just a few details’ remain to be ironed out between the two clubs and they are around the various bonuses linked to the transfer.

Chelsea ‘could therefore get close to the €100m’ that Leicester want in a deal that would be considered ‘a huge coup’ in this summer transfer market.

That’s an impressive figure for the 21-year-old, who only cost Leicester £31.5m from Saint-Etienne in October 2020 but now could be set for a massive move to London as Chelsea look to cover the loss of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
