Milliyet report Burnley have offered €28m for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi but the Yellow Canaries have rejected it.

Burnley have been linked with the player in recent weeks.

The Kosovan striker continued his excellent form in front of goal for Fenerbahce as he scored his 13th goal for the club in all competitions last weekend against Medipol Basaksehir.

It’s reported Tottenham are also following the player’s situation, but the offer came from Burnley, which was instantly rejected by the Turkish club as they want to keep their star player until the end of the season.

Along with the two Premier League clubs, La Liga side Real Sociedad are also interested in signing the player but it’s claimed the Fenerbahce’s board believe the 25 year old could be worth more than €28m in the summer.

Fener could be tempted to sell Muriqi at the end of the season but still may keep hold of him if they qualify for the Champions League.

Muriqi’s contract with the Super Lig will expire at the end of June 2023.

This feels a lot like Fener trying to get the message out that they value their player highly, and therefore sending out “leaks” about big offers being rejected.
