According to a claim the Turkish media, Besiktas held talks with Everton during the last transfer window with regards to re-signing Cenk Tosun.
The Turkey international only joined the Toffees in January from the Istanbul club.
Fotomac today report Besiktas officials were in England this summer and held talks with Everton sporting director Marcel Brands in the hope they could loan their former player.
It was well documented in the Turkish media during the summer that Besiktas were looking to bring in a centre forward after the departure of Alvaro Negredo. Since selling Tosun to Everton in the last winter transfer window, the club has failed to find a suitable replacement.
However, it’s claimed Brands turned down Besiktas’ approaches, but could still be open to speak to the Super Lig club in the future.
Tosun had started all of Everton’s first five league games but was named as substitute last weekend in the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.
