Fanatik claim Aston Villa are interested in signing Trabzonspor striker Daniel Sturridge.

The former England and Liverpool attacker joined the Turkish club on a free transfer last summer after his contract expired with the Premier League side.

The Turkish newspaper report Aston Villa have offered €5m to sign Sturridge and Trabzonspor could part ways with the player given he’s one of the highest earners at the club.

With the long-term injury to Wesley, Dean Smith may look to sign another option before Friday’s transfer deadline. They’ve already signed Mbwana Samatta, but there’s still claims around Europe of Villa being keen on others.

However, along with Aston Villa, it’s reported Russian clubs CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow are also interested in the 30 year old.

Trabzonspor will reportedly evaluate offers in the coming days before making a decision on the player.

Sturridge has been in impressive form for Trabzonspor since joining, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists in 13 games. His contract with the Super Lig club will expire at the end of June 2021.
