Sporx report Galatasaray are looking to beat Celtic in the race to sign Hull City forward Abel Hernandez and are ready to make an offer for the player.

The Uruguayan will become a free agent at the end of the month and the player has also been linked with Celtic.

Recently it was reported Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was considering bringing in Hernandez and the Scottish Premiership club had made an offer. Celtic currently have Moussa Dembélé and Leigh Griffiths at their disposal but it seems like Rodgers wants to bolster his attacking options this month. There’s also the potential deal for Odsonne Edouard on the table.

According to Sporx, Galatasaray officials have met with Hernandez’s agent to discuss a possible move to Istanbul. It’s claimed the Turkish champions are planning to offer €2m (like after tax) per season to Hernandez on a three year contract.

The Turkish website report Galatasaray are hoping to use their goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to convince fellow Uruguayan Hernandez to move to Turkey. However, Sporx say Galatasaray will face competition from Celtic, Torino and Fiorentina.

Hernandez himself is reported to be open to a move to Galatasaray but he also wants to listen other offers before making a decision, which still gives Celtic a chance.

It’s likely the forward will go to the highest bidder with a number of clubs said to be interested.
