Hardly the happiest customer last year at Paris Saint-Germain, Thomas Meunier could end up leaving the French capital this summer for more game time elsewhere.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked incessantly with the Belgian over the past few weeks, and should a transfer happen, the Ligue 1 champions will need a replacement.

According to Yahoo! Sport France, the man they have in mind for the role is Leicester City’s Ricardo Pereira.

The Portuguese defender was voted both the club’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season, shining up and down the right hand side of both Claude Puel’s and Brendan Rodgers’ sides during the 2018-19 campaign, and already knows French football.

A success on loan from Porto for Nice in Ligue 1, it isn’t all that surprising to see a club willing to bring him back to France, and after last year’s performances, it would have to be a rich one, as we all know the Foxes aren’t just going to hand him over in exchange for a button, some pocket fluff and a packet of crisps.

Yahoo! Sport France state Paris Saint-Germain have already ‘made contact’ with Pereira about a possible move, although little is said beyond that.

After all, they can talk to him all they want, as Leicester will be the ones deciding if they want to cash in on the defender or not, and if the past is anything to go by (e.g. Riyad Mahrez and Manchester City), they won’t make it easy.
