On Monday night, the Brazilian media broke the news the City Group were close to signing Atletico Mineiro winger Savinho.

It was claimed the youngster is being sold for €6.5m, and even though it’s unlikely he’d go straight to Manchester City, it wasn’t known where he’d be heading to.

Now in an update from Radio Itatiaia, it’s claimed that the 17-year-old should first move to French side Troyes.

It’s reiterated that the teenager is expected to move for €6.5m, with performance bonuses which could make that amount reach €10m. Also, Atletico Mineiro would have 15% of a future move.

The story claims that the talks are advanced, and in fact, that’s no reason for the clubs to worry. That’s because Savinho only turns 18 in April, so it will take a while until he’s finally able to move to Europe.

The winger had also been linked to Arsenal this year, but it seems that before having a chance to play in the Premier League for Manchester City, he’ll need to impress at Troyes first.
