The City Football Group have just added another young player to their big empire. That’s Tiago Palacios from Club Atlético Platense.

As reported by Argentine outlet Infobae, the midfielder has been acquired for a fee of US$400k for 70% of his rights, and is initially joining Uruguayan side Montevideo City Torque.

Just like any other players who are bought in by the City Football Group, Palacios is said to be joining the ‘Group who manage Manchester City’, which has a bigger impact on the headlines.

Montevideo City Torque was acquired by the City Group back in 2017, and it’s actually been rare to see them making big signings in South America so far.

The Uruguayan side, however, have been on a rise since the takeover. Besides a quick promotion to the first division, they’re now second in the local league table, currently in front of the country’s most traditional clubs, Nacional and Peñarol.

So Palacios is definitely a youngster to keep an eye on from now on, as in case he continues impressing in South America, perhaps the 19-year-old will soon have the chance to make a move to Manchester City… that will certainly be his dream.
