As usual, Christian Eriksen is the big star for the Danish media during the current international break. Ajax’s Kasper Dolberg had been wrestling the media darling crown away from Eriksen, but it didn’t last long.

Eriksen is now having a good season for his club and country, after a few wobbles, and the Danish media can’t help but think about a move from Tottenham to somewhere like Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

It’s not encouraged, and the general idea is that Eriksen is best remaining at Tottenham, but the romance of the idea means questions are asked.

Asked what it would take to ‘lure’ him away from Tottenham, Eriksen is quoted by Ekstra Bladet as saying: “I honestly haven’t thought about it.”

Eriksen was then asked if he could be tempted to leave: “I live in the present. Right now, there are still more than three years left on my contract. I feel great and really like being at Tottenham.”

Screen Shot 2017-03-24 at 12.03.16Quizzed on the London terror attack (not in relation to a transfer, thankfully), Eriksen said: “My girlfriend, Sabrina, who is in London now, asked me if I had seen the news. I hadn’t at the time, but soon I was informed of what had happened.

“It is very worrying, but you have to live a little with terror. There are fears in many places, and now unfortunately also in the city where I live. But it is important not to be afraid. We must trust that the police will solve the task.”

Christian Eriksen is clearly very happy at Tottenham and has no intention of fishing for interest.
