Christian Eriksen has said there’s been no approach so far about joining Thomas Frank at Tottenham but backed him to be a success without his help.

Ekstra Bladet cover comments from the midfielder today, in which he was asked about his fellow Dane’s impending move across London.

The Brentford manager appears to be Tottenham’s number one choice to replace Ange Postecoglou. Reports in England have stated that it is now a matter of time before he is appointed.

The news is naturally a big topic in Denmark, where national coach Brian Riemer was asked about it after the defeat to Lithuania. It was the same for Eriksen, who believes the manager he worked with briefly at Brentford will do well at his former club.

“I think he is the right coach for Tottenham,” he said.

“I have had Thomas at various times, and I think he is the perfect match for Tottenham, and it would be great if Thomas takes on that challenge.

“His personality, his way of playing and his way of being. And the club considering where they were last season – they won a trophy of course – but they are in the process of building something up, and I am sure that Thomas is a good man to bring in.”

Like Frank, Eriksen will be on the move this summer as he’s set to be a free agent after leaving Manchester United.

He’s already hinted that his future may rest outside of the Premier League, although the prospect of a return to Tottenham alongside Frank could prove tempting.

It seems there’s nothing moving in that department, though, with the midfielder insisting that there’s been no offer yet.

“No, not where we are now, so Thomas should call if something happens,” he added before saying “no, no, no” when asked if Frank had called.
