José Mourinho’s departure from Manchester United is obviously big news all over the world today, and a few countries are having a special coverage of his exit. Chile is one of them.
Most of the outlets in the South American country are taking the manager’s sacking as a new opportunity for Alexis Sanchez, who had been benched by the Portuguese boss and is currently in his home country treating an injury.
La Tercera writes that Sanchez can now stop trying to impress a manager who’s lost faith in his potential, and can now ‘regain his confidence’. They also claim that the attacker can now rule out the plan to leave Manchester United for PSG in January, not that there was much in that anyway.
Publimetro claims that the player ‘will have an opportunity to be reborn, convince the new coach that he deserves to be a starter, and re-start with football’.
AS has another focus.
They mostly talk about the bad relationship between Sanchez and Mourinho, claiming that although they hadn’t completely fallen out with each other, there was a ‘distance’ between them.
They say the player has been a ‘ghost’ in 2018, and he takes the manager’s departure as ‘good news’.
