Earlier today we covered claims from Sport that Marco Asensio is tempted over a move to Liverpool, fearful he won’t get the prominence he desires at Real Madrid next season.

Asensio has a ‘spectacular’ offer from the Premier League club who have apparently made it clear they want the Spaniard to be their star player and are ready to pay him the wages to go with that.

Over at AS, a Madrid based newspaper, they have it differently.

It’s claimed that ‘despite the interest’ of Liverpool, Asensio is determined to stay where he is. Bigger wages wouldn’t sway the 22 year old and he’s happy where he is.

AS say ‘in England’ it’s claimed Liverpool will offer €180m, but that actually started in Spain.

Regardless, Real Madrid and Asensio are determined to remain together this summer.

The La Liga club aren’t concerned about the situation because Asensio has a contract lasting until 2023 with a €700m buyout clause included.

It’s Asensio’s ‘childhood dream’ to triumph with Real Madrid and AS end their article by saying there’s ‘no debate’, a move won’t be happening.
