Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Inter Milan’s Ivan Perišić and are close to securing his services.

The 33-year-old has a month left on his deal and has refused to accept the renewal offer proposed by the Serie A side.

On May 30th, we covered claims made by Calciomerctao that the winger turned wing-back ‘is in London’ to undergo medical tests before completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Sky Italia claim the Croatia international has completed his medical in London and signed a two-year contract with Spurs, worth €6m per season. ‘Only the official announcement is missing’, and ‘it is only a matter of time’ the transfer is made official.

Beyond the economic factor, Perišić’s desire to play in the Premier League was ‘decisive’ for him to pick Tottenham Hotspur. In north London, he will reunite with his former coach, Antonio Conte, who ‘strongly wanted’ the player.

The former Wolfsburg man clearing his medical tests has also been reported by TuttoMercatoWeb.

Inter chief Giuseppe Marotta has expressed his disappointment over side losing Perišić as a free agent.

“There is regret, but he wanted to try a new experience in the Premier League. We weren’t in a position to present better offers, his choice was simply based on a different future than the current one,” Marotta said, as quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Maximum respect for this and also a big thank you. We will find the right replacement and, in any case, we have already taken Robin Gosens.”
