Lazio have set their sights on AFC Bournemouth’s Philip Billing for the summer, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.
The Serie A side are currently second in the table and in contention to qualify for the Champions League. Although there are 11 league games left this season, they have already started to focus on the market.
In need to bolster their midfield, Lazio chief Igli Tare has included the Bournemouth player’s name in his notebook.
It’s claimed the sporting director is ‘working hard to try’ to please Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri, by bringing in new faces to the club in the next window. Tare has identified the Denmark international as the ‘first reinforcement’ for midfield.
The 26-year-old is ‘more than an idea’ for the Biancocelesti as they appreciate his skills. Lazio want to know the former Chelsea boss’ opinion about the Dane, so they know whether to take further steps to sign him.
Billing is valued between €18m and €20m. His deal at Bournemouth runs down in 2024 and that could reduce his cost in the summer.
The Cherries are 19th in the table and Billing’s price tag could be reduced further if the English club are relegated from the Premier League.
Billing has managed six goals and an assist from 26 league games this season.
