Last week, Ronald Koeman admitted Georginio Wijnaldum “may be an option” for Barcelona.

The midfielder’s contract at Liverpool will expire after this season and a renewal doesn’t seem imminent.

According to Calciomercato, the 30-year-old has ‘reached a crossroads’ in his career because he must decide whether to continue with the Reds, where he has won the Champions League and the Premier League, or try a new adventure elsewhere.

The English champions have already offered the Netherlands international a three-year deal worth £4m per season. Jürgen Klopp values the player and wants to retain him, but money is not the only factor for Wijnaldum.

It’s claimed the possibility of playing in another league ‘attracts’ and ‘teases’ the Dutchman, so a move away from Anfield seems possible.

Barcelona remain an option and now Inter Milan have arrived on the scene for the former Newcastle United man.

The website explains Giuseppe Marotta, the CEO of the Serie A side, is a ‘specialist’ of free transfers and he has the Liverpool player’s ‘name on his list’.

Calciomercato makes it clear Antonio Conte’s side haven’t gone beyond requesting information, but the possibility of them making an official proposal in the next few weeks cannot be excluded, especially if they get a signal that Wijnaldum wants to leave Liverpool and the Premier League.
