Bayern Munich are in the market for a winger after seeing Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben leave the club last month.

Leroy Sane has been attracting interest from the Bundesliga winners and their chiefs, Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, have publicly expressed their side’s desire in signing the winger.

On May 30th, The Guardian reported Manchester City have turned down an €80m bid from the Bavarians for the Germany international.

However, the claims from England have been rejected by Bayern CEO Rummenigge.

He told Sport Bild“We did not make a bid for Leroy Sane. It’s not that far yet.”

With Rummenigge making it clear the deal is not advanced yet, he also states his side are willing to enter into firm negotiations with Pep Guardiola’s side, providing the 23-year-old shows his willingness to make a switch to the Allianz Arena.

“First, the player has to decide whether he can imagine coming to Bayern, if that is the case, Let’s go into concrete negotiations with Manchester City,” the Bayern chief explained.

“The player is the most important factor. Apparently, Leroy has not decided yet. Hasan Salihamidzic [Bayern sporting director] is in talks here.”

Sport Bild further goes on to state that Sane, who was previously advised by his mother Regina, must reorganise his management.

To sort out his future, the former Schalke man is in talks with David Beckham’s former management.

Bayern Mundi seem happy to speak about being in talks with the Manchester City player, despite not having an agreement with his club.
