Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić has been attracting interest from clubs in Italy and across Europe.
Inter Milan are one of the sides keen on signing the midfielder and on February 14th, we relayed news from Italy that they could face competition from Chelsea to sign the 25-year-old.
FcInterNews now claims the Serbia international has been identified as the first-choice target for the Nerazzurri. Although they have not held talks for Milinković-Savić’s transfer, Antonio Conte’s side are believed to be the main candidates for his signature.
The Blues are once again dragged into the mix and it’s stated there’s also interest from the English side in the Lazio star.
Chelsea’s possibility to land Milinković-Savić will depend on Frank Lampard’s position at Stamford Bridge beyond this season.
The outlet suggests the west London club could target an experienced Premier League player, if the ex-Derby County boss continues at the club.
Last summer, Lazio president Claudio Lotito promised Milinković-Savić he would allow him to leave for less than €100m, if he finishes this season at the club. This agreement needs to be clarified as the situation could change if Lazio go on to win the title this term.
