Chelsea’s Armando Broja has been on loan at Southampton for the 2021/22 season and has impressed for the Saints, managing nine goals and an assist in all competitions.
The Albania international also starred for his country, scoring three goals and registering two assists from seven matches in the World Cup qualifiers. His form for Southampton and his country has seen the striker draw attention from other clubs.
Among them are Napoli, and Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Thursday that the Serie A side are ready to target the Chelsea owned player as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen.
The Naples club looking at the 20-year-old as a possible successor for the Nigerian is also reported by TuttoMercatoWeb. They further explain the chances of Broja arriving in Italy in the summer are currently not high.
That’s because the idea of Thomas Tuchel’s side is to ‘bring him home’ after his loan spell at Southampton. It’s claimed the frontman ‘will return to Chelsea’ and then ‘decide his future’ with the west London club.
The club’s search for a new owner makes it a ‘complicated situation’ as Broja and his camp don’t know with whom they will have to hold talks ‘right now’.
Despite all this, TMW state that the ‘feeling is he will remain, in any case, in the Premier League’.
