A tentative Eder Militao and Chelsea story has been building in the Spanish media in recent weeks, ahead of the summer transfer window.
With Thomas Tuchel’s side possibly losing multiple central defenders on free transfers at the end of June, the Blues have of course been linked with players who could be replacements for any who leave.
Real Madrid’s Militao is one of those, and AS report the Brazilian is ‘in Chelsea’s future plans’. He’s ‘on the radar’ of the Premier League club, and any swoop would be impressive for Tuchel’s side.
That’s because the 24-year-old is really gaining prominence under Carlo Ancelotti in Madrid. He’s started 22 La Liga matches so far this season, and picked up a further 10 appearances in other competitions.
AS say the player is ‘becoming a new Pepe’, which is quite some praise given how well the Portuguese defender did for Real Madrid over a prolonged period.
It’s even stated that for goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Militao is a defensive ‘angel’ in front of him.
With a contract until 2025, Los Blancos are well protected, but Chelsea interest is said to be there nevertheless.
