Chelsea have signed Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi this summer, and already have Diego Costa in their squad, but reports continue to link them to Romelu Lukaku.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday, Chelsea have given €70m/£59m to Antonio Conte on his 47th birthday to re-sign Romelu Lukaku.
However, reports in the English media suggest Everton have already turned down Chelsea’s offer of around £57m for the player.
Gazzetta explain how Lukaku left the club two-years ago, and that they’re ready to double the amount to bring him back.
It is reported the arrival of Lukaku could see Diego Costa leaving the club, despite Atletico Madrid signing Kevin Gameiro from Sevilla. Atletico have been hugely keen on taking Costa back, but the Gameiro deal may well have signalled the end of that dream.
Gazzetta don’t seem to have too much information on Lukaku, and have rather explained the past events.
