With Brazilian left-back Alex Telles having another great season for FC Porto, the club are already working on protecting him for the next transfer market.

As reported by newspaper A Bola today, the Dragons are set to offer the player a new contract, which besides giving him a pay raise, will also increase his release clause to €50m or €60m.

The outlet doesn’t name any club that should go for Telles in the summer, but do mention one side who already tried to sign him this year: Chelsea.

According to the report, Chelsea made a bid of €22m for the player in the January window. However, it was immediately rejected by the Porto president Pinto da Costa, who claims that it will be need much more to take Telles from the club.

A Bola now claims that clubs from Italy, Germany, England and Spain are all interested in Telles, and that’s the main reason why Porto are concerned about the summer market. With 18 assists made this season, it’s no surprise he’s attracting interest from so many sides.

And with the player’s agent already telling Sport Witness that he feels Telles will play for Chelsea someday, maybe the Blues are making another attempt at the end of the season.
