Raphaël Varane’s contract situation at Real Madrid has seen him being linked with other clubs, especially Chelsea, in the past week or so.

The centre-back’s contract expires in 2022 and he’s decided not to sign an extension with the La Liga side because they want the France international to take a pay cut.

On April 20th, we carried a report from AS, who explained Thomas Tuchel has identified the 28-year-old as a priority target for the Blues.

Tuesday’s edition of Mundo further backs the Premier League side’s interest in the World Cup winner and also reiterates the player has no desire to sign a new deal with the Madrid club.

It’s claimed Chelsea ‘love’ the former Lens man and for them to complete the deal, they will have to meet the €70m asking price set by Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Real Madrid host Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final clash on Tuesday.

Tuchel and the English club will be able to take a closer look at Varane during the midweek European clash.
