As Thomas Strakosha is set to walk away from Lazio at the end of his contract this summer, a few Premier League clubs have been pointed out as potential destinations to the free agent.
Today, we get to see another English side in that list, and that’s Chelsea.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, a move to Stamford Bridge is now a ‘concrete lead’, as the interest from the Blues has ‘found fertile ground’.
Chelsea would be keen on landing Strakosha in case they lose Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer. Then the Albanian would arrive to fight for a place with Edouard Mendy.
Regarding the competition from other Premier League clubs, Tutto Mercato Web points out that Fulham’s offensive ‘has so far not led to an agreement’.
So Chelsea’s most recent move seems to have put the Blues in a more comfortable position in the race for the goalkeeper, even though their pursuit shall still depend on Kepa’s exit.
There’s interest in the Spanish goalkeeper, and the Blues will surely wait for that situation to be resolved before moving for anyone else.
